Procedures for industrial uses: DUCA and B6

The period of validity of the DUCA has been extended to 4 years

From the 1 April 2005 * the basic declaration of use and pollution (DUCA), which is used to determine the water rate according to the individualised system, will have a period of validity of FOUR YEARS (until now the period of validity was one year).

For this reason, you are not obliged to submit the declaration for your organisation until the last quarter of the fourth year after the submission of the last declaration. That means that if the declaration was submitted during the last quarter of 2004, the next declaration should be submitted in the last quarter of the year 2008.

In addition to this, once per year you may also submit a new declaration before the end of the abovementioned period of validity of four years, only when there is a substantial change in the production process or in the treatment of wastewater discharged by the establishment. In this case this declaration must be accompanied by the corresponding documentary justification accrediting the change that has been made in order for it to be accepted by the Catalan Water Agency.
